No ano passado, David Levy publicou o livro Love and Sex with Robots, após anos de pesquisa sobre interações entre humanos e computadores. Sua idéia básica é que, para humanos que não conseguem estabelecer conexões emocionais e sexuais com outras pessoas, talvez haja a possibilidade de estabelecer essa ligação com robôs. O tópico deixa margem ao rídiculo: no programa de entrevistas americano The Colbert Report, o apresentador Stephen Colbert perguntou a Levy, “E quanto a essas pessoas que não conseguem estabelecer relações com outros seres humanos… por acaso são as mesmas pessoas que escrevem sobre amor e sexo com robôs?”. Foi na universidade, quando eu passei pela disciplina Inteligência Artificial e pesquisando alguns assuntos pertinentes a área, acabei achando o site www.a-i.com.

Founded to create true artificial intelligence – making it possible for humans and computers to speak to each other in everyday language – Ai is an international project with a research center near Tel Aviv, Israel. Located in one of the largest mansions in Israel, our research institute is the ultimate “digital day care,” the ideal place to raise our child machine from infancy to adulthood, teaching him to interpret and respond to ordinary conversation.
Ai Research is headed by Jack Dunietz, a 23-year veteran of the technology industry, who has established several successful publicly traded firms. The Ai team consists of scientists, researchers, engineers, and language specialists. All work together to nurture Ai’s child machine, and to ensure that it will successfully pass the Turing Test within the next 10 years.
